We are very pleased to announce that the waiting lists for the
alto and soprano sections have been RE-OPENED!!


To join the choir, follow these steps:

Step 1 Let us know you want to join! Click on the link below and fill out the form with as much information as possible.  Membership Application

Step 2 The Chorus Administrator will contact you and invite you to participate to the next scheduled orientation session. We hold orientations at least twice a year, in March and in June. If you are not available on the day of the next session, you will have the option of coming to the following one.

Step 3 Attend the orientation, which is divided in two parts:

  1. Review of requirements: general information, fees and other costs, attendance policy, optional events, retreats, repertoire, accessibility.
  2. Voice placement (not an audition): the conductor or assistant conductor will listen to your voice to place you in the right section (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass). You will then be placed on a waiting list within your section. You can inquire at any time where you stand in the waiting list.

CONGRATULATIONS!  You're now a member of the Common Thread community!  Though you have not yet been offered a singing spot, we want you to be involved.  You can sit on the Board of Directors, volunteer at concerts, attend our AGM and everything else that Common Thread members are entitled to. 

Step 4 In August, we will assess how many new singers we need to start a new season in September. You will be contacted in order according to the waiting list. We accept 23 voices per section at the beginning of each season.

Step 5 You are now a singing member! Welcome aboard! The first rehearsal is usually the 1st Wednesday after Labour Day and is an introduction to the choir. Once you are a member, you can take a leave of absence for 1-2 years and rejoin the choir the following year.
